The shots below were taken on the 4-rated Cliff Hanger trail (also known as Amasa Back) during Easter Jeep Safari '99. Thanks to the two guys in the red TJ (second and 4th rows) for taking these shots with their cool digital camera!
I had to be strapped up the most difficult obstacle (third row--guy in green jacket) on the way out and did some pretty good damage to my Olympic Rockside Bumpers. The 33's came in handy on many occasions, but because my gearing was too tall for these tires, I had to use a lot of momentum on many obstacles instead of finesse. I'm still surprised I didn't fry my clutch trying to get back up the last section and onto the pavement! I ran this trail twice while I was down there, and managed to ram my fan blade into the radiator on the first run. This required a trip to NAPA for a new fan clutch, which I replaced out on the street like some poor Joad...lower gears (and fuel injection!) are definitely an asset on trails like this.
